Hello everyone, and I'm back with a new announcement! I have illustrated the second Heroes to Zero book for Worldreader, a series of short stories for children aged 10-12 about climate change by Weslie Lechner, titled Heroes to Zero #2: Show and Sell!
Shortly before I finished the first book in October 2023, Worldreader sent me the manuscript for the second book in the Heroes to Zero series. I was already informed that there would be ten books in the series, but I discovered that each book would feature a "main character", or a character that the story will focus on. The first book, of course, focused on Millie Brown, and this book focuses on Lucas Sanchez! As with the first book, I really liked the story, and I couldn't wait to work on it. The end result was a book released on BookSmart that you can check out now! Below is the cover to the book and its synopsis:
Banned from the science fair, Lucas Sanchez hatches a plan with his friend Amelia to turn the event into a statement on renewable energy. With humor and determination, they rally the Heroes to Zero climate club, defy the ban, and leave the school warmer and wiser. Lucas’s journey from prankster to climate champion proves that even the most unexpected individuals can spark positive change.
On top of this, I've made a few changes to the website to reflect the book's release, including adding a Heroes to Zero page, which you can check out here or access through the Books page. This is where the links to the first two books' pages on BookSmart, as well as all subsequent books in the series, will be complied. The page also features the official artwork of the characters in the series and their character descriptions that were in my previous post. Here's a screenshot of what to expect below:
Are you interested in checking out what our young scientists are up to? If so, I'm currently working on the third book with Worldreader, though it's still in the early stages of development. So, be sure to stay tuned for when our aspiring environmentalists' next adventure is released!
Until then, stay enlightened, educated and entertained by all the science experiments, folks.
